Papers of Muriel Anne Dryden, 1935-1990.

Memoirs, correspondence, journals, memorabilia, travel logs, personnel records of employment, newspaper clippings, writings, and photographs documenting Dryden's career. The personal correspondence provides insight into her political views, especially in the "letters to the editor" correspondence. The papers include a "Security Investigation" document, social invitations received from the White House and prominent Republican Party politicians, and newspaper clippings of articles written by Dryden as well as articles on her participation in choral performances at the White House. Also included are two chapters of the book she was working on concerning Lamsa's translation of the Bible from Syriac, plus copious notes on the Aramaic language, Eastern thought and expression, the cultural history of Kurdistan, and descriptions of Assyria. There are also several unpublished articles including the paper "Eastern Scriptures in Western Language."
